Carers Advice

Are You A Carer

If you are a Carer who helps and supports someone who cannot manage on their own, we want to ensure YOU get all the support you need too.

To be able to do this, we need to know certain facts about your caring situation. Please complete a carers form and hand it to our Receptionist at either Whitehill or Fairford Leys Surgery.

With your consent we will pass your details on to Carers Bucks, a local organisation offering information and advice, local support services, a newsletter and a telephone linkline aimed especially at Carers. Carers Bucks will also be able to refer you for a Needs Assessment. A Needs Assessment is free of charge, and will give you a chance to discuss your role as a Carer and see what resources are available to benefit you. It will focus on:

  • Supporting you as a Carer
  • Maintaining your own health
  • Balancing caring with other aspects of your life, including work and family, looking after both your current and future needs

It is NOT about judging the way you are caring for someone, nor should social services assume that you wish to become, or continue being, a carer.

Once the Needs Assessment is complete the Local Authority may provide services to help you in your caring role or offer help in maintaining your own health and well-being. It can also look at the needs of the person you care for.

If you are interested please complete the form below:

They’re here to make sure that no matter how complicated your query or your experience, you don’t have to care alone.
